AlanMorseDaviesNotJustaPrettyFace Alan Morse Davies audio at-sea-music netlabels Mixing electronics with vocal and orchestral elements, Not Just a Pretty Face was composed for the contemporary dance work of the same name by John Utans. This originally started as a single twelve minute piece, commissioned for a dance piece for students at the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts in June 2004. The piece was subsequently expanded to four parts and re-edited several times to fit the choreography. Part two was later expanded for the dance work "Lines to Read Between", again by John Utans, performed by the Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, in Salt Lake City, U.S.A in April 2005. Presented here is the "composer's cut", with the sequencing originally intended by the composer.
